Dear customers, so that you can enjoy our diving jewelery for a long time, we would like to give you some tips on handling, storage and care. If you have any questions, we are of course also happy to answer them on 49 / (0) 89 / 85 66 22 10
1. Storage of silver jewelry
If possible, store your jewelry in the enclosed packaging or in your jewelry box. Please make sure that your jewelry does not scratch each other. Silver jewelry can oxidize and discolour in air due to the sulfur compounds it contains. Tarnishing of silver jewelery is a normal process that can be largely prevented by various measures. If you only wear your silver jewelery from time to time, we recommend storing the jewelery in the enclosed ziplock bags. These seal airtight and prevent tarnishing. You can also put a piece of blackboard chalk in the packaging for storing jewellery. The chalk binds harmful substances and delays the tarnishing of silver jewellery.
2. Chokers and chains
If possible, keep chokers closed (see point 1 Storage). Chokers should never be tightly rolled or folded. Deformations and kinks can usually not be completely removed. Please make sure that you take off your chokers before you go to bed.
3. Discoloration removal
Silver jewelry can tarnish under certain conditions (contact with sulfur compounds). If discolouration should form on your silver jewelery after a while, in most cases this can be easily removed in a silver immersion bath. Please rinse your cleaned pieces of jewelery thoroughly under running water and dry them with a soft cloth and, if necessary, with a hair dryer. Jewelry cleaning cloths are only suitable for cleaning polished jewelry. You should not use them for matt jewellery, otherwise the matting of the glass bead blasted surface will be polished off over time.
3.a. An alternative to removing stains
Fill a plastic bowl (important: not metal) with hot water and add plenty of table salt. Then stir until the salt has completely dissolved. Now you need a piece of aluminum foil. Form a small tub out of the aluminum foil and place your jewelry in it. Now let the pieces of jewelry with the aluminum foil submerge in the hot saline solution. Caution hot! Use a wooden spoon to submerge if necessary. The discoloration on your jewelry should now slowly disappear and be reflected on the aluminum foil. However, this procedure does not work for all types of discoloration. Please contact us if you are unsuccessful in cleaning either with an immersion bath or with this method
3.b. Jewelry with enamel and precious stones, chokers
Please do not clean enameled jewelry, jewelry with precious stones, or chokers without first contacting us.
4. Cleaning jewelry
You can easily remove dirt from your jewelery with a warm washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. If necessary, you can also use a soft toothbrush for cleaning. However, you only remove dirt and deposits of skin fat.
5. Rubber straps
If possible, please avoid contact of rubber with skin cream, sunscreen, shampoo or shower gel. The fats or creams contained therein can react with the rubber and this can swell over time and lose its elasticity.
6. Studs
Stud nuts, especially those made of silver, can lose their tension over time and should then be readjusted. To do this, grasp the stud nut between your thumb and forefinger and gently bend the jaws together until the correct tension is set.
7. Jewelry repairs
Please do not try to repair your jewelry yourself! Should there be any problems, we will be happy to help you with words and deeds.
8. Custom-made jewelry
If you are interested in a custom-made piece of jewelry, please contact me by phone or email and I will be happy to make you a non-binding offer.
